Chaplaincy

We offer high quality, confidential pastoral care in workplaces, town centres, the justice and healthcare systems, and the world of sport.

What is Chaplaincy

Chaplains work in all kinds of places in a wide variety of contexts. They provide pastoral care, religious services, spiritual guidance, and counselling to anyone at times of need wherever it is needed.

Training & Equipping

Workplace Chaplaincy

Workplace chaplains visit people at work, in a great range of industries and workplaces. A chaplain celebrates, encourages and is there with time to listen, for all they meet. Chaplains are motivated by their own faith to care for others but are there to support everyone, whether or not they are people of faith.

Hospital Chaplaincy

NHS trusts in our area have dedicated chaplaincy teams offering Pastoral and Spiritual support for patients and staff in their care. Some hospital chaplains are ordained, and come from a range of denominations including the Church of England. They are supported by volunteers from local churches. There are also chaplains linked to some hospices.

Emergency Services

Chaplains support the Fire and Rescue, Police and Ambulance services. Although away from the public gaze.

Prisons Chaplaincy

Prison chaplains deliver faith support and pastoral care for thousands of prisoners across the region. Their work includes ensuring the provision of weekly acts of worship for all major world faiths. They meet prisoners when they arrive and offer a listening ear to staff and prisoners in times of personal crisis.

Sport Chaplaincy

Sports chaplains offer pastoral and spiritual support to staff, coaches, players and fans, they can be a valuable independent listening ear, helping members of sporting groups through the challenges they face.
